OUR ORIGINS
Tea Lace & Roses to Miss Minerva's Tea Room
This Tea Room has been an integral part of Downtown Culpeper for over 20 years. Providing a unique dining experience and supplying whole leaf tea selections makes Miss Minerva's stand out in this small Central Virginia town.

Original owner, Joan Byrnes opened 'Tea, Lace & Roses' in 2002. Ownership was then passed down to employees, first Pat Settle, then Ashleigh Price. When Tea, Lace & Roses moved to East Davis Street the name was changed and Miss Minerva's Tea Room & Gifts was born.

Now, in 2024, Mindel Hale and Heather Griffin are the newest owners of Culpeper's iconic Tea Room. Miss Minerva's has now found a new home on Main Street in the historic art deco style State Theater. Built in 1937 originally a movie theater, the State Theater is now a hub for the arts and 2 restaurants. Come see 2 icons in one place!
